So… what are chakras?

Chakras are powerful energy centers in our body. We have tons throughout our body along meridians, palms of our hands, and the bottoms of our feet but today we’ll focus on the 7 main chakras that most people know. Each chakra carries a vibrational quality that relates to a specific color, note, and sound.

Our chakras are connected to different systems and organs of our body as well as our emotional and mental bodies. Because of this, their health and clarity is critical to our overall wellness. There are so many things that contribute to maintaining a strong vibration in these energy centers including color therapy, crystals, essential oils, music, meditation, yoga, and nutrition. We could spend hours discussing each chakra and how to open, clear, and maintain healthy chakras! I have always been mesmerized by these vortices and their connection to our physical, mental, and spiritual body. But trying to study and master all of the details and therapy for each of the 7 chakras can be a bit daunting. So we’ll begin by focusing on two therapies in chakra balancing.

In this chart you’ll find what foods help to open, clear, and maintain each chakra as well as an asana (yoga pose). Now, of course there are many poses that help to open our chakras but for the sake of this flyer (and space ), I included one pose for each chakra. I hope that you find this useful and begin to notice these subtle energy centers as you bring awareness to them. They have such a profound affect on every aspect of our being. In my next chakra article, we’ll look at which crystals and essential oils help to cultivate healthy chakras.
